Grid Management Working Group Our Work The rapid rise of DERs and new Smart Grid technologies offer opportunities for efficiency, resiliency, and reliability, but also introduce new challenges in the administration, management, and planning of a more complex grid. The Grid Management Working Group brings together grid operations technology, strategy, IT and business leaders from utilities to discuss key operational concepts/capabilities and architecture principles relating to future grid control and operational technologies. The group is actively developing requirements to accelerate the deployment of distributed energy resources. Current focus areas are DERMs and Engineering Planning. Objective is to drive change in the industry through a consensus driven process which will provide clarity for solution providers on their future developments.
