SEPA welcomes the opportunity to help Puerto Rico design a power grid that takes advantage of the latest technologies and business models to build a truly resilient and sustainable electric power sector. Transforming Puerto Rico’s Power Grid: The Art of the Possible in PREPA’s New Paradigm Julia Hamm joined Fernando Padilla, Project Management Officer at PREPA, at the Puerto Rico Investment Summit in February, 2018 to discuss future deployment of renewable generation and the importance of a strong, independent regulatory board to protect customers and attract capital investment. SEPA Announced as a Member of the Puerto Rico Energy Resiliency Working Group New York Governor Andrew Cuomo’s office announced the formation of the Puerto Rico Energy Resiliency Working Group in November, 2017. SEPA, along with various utilities, national labs, and experts in the energy sector, was selected to prepare a report identifying funding requirements and recommendations to rebuild a more resilient and reliable electric power grid on the island.
