Customers are now expecting the world at a click of a button, and utilities are not immune. In the era of Amazon, Uber, and Air BnB customers are embracing technology that disrupts the marketplace status quo. What does that mean for utilities? Developing utility marketplaces can deepen their customer engagement and grow their position as a trusted advisor to meet rising customer expectations. You’ll hear from utilities in both the early and late stages of launching a marketplace to get a full picture of the right approach. The Sacramento Municipal Utility District will discuss their experience delivering an offering based on customer input and data and Xcel Energy will describe integrating home energy audits and other advanced functionality. Simple Energy and Pick My Solar will share their experience with utility marketplaces, how they have partnered with utilities, and where they see energy marketplaces heading in the future.
