Cynthia’s experience includes strategic planning, project management, education program development, and member engagement. She understands the technologies, approaches, and deployment of clean energy assets to reach a carbon-free future and the power of collaboration of key stakeholders to achieve the energy transition. Prior to joining SEPA, Cynthia was a Project Manager for Morse Associates, Inc. a consultancy in Washington, DC where Cynthia gained more than 10 years of experience managing utility-scale solar PV and CSP studies and initiatives for a number of clients both in the U.S. and internationally. Outside of her professional work and interests, Cynthia’s family and dogs keep her busy. She is a comedy-loving movie nerd, a voracious reader, and a classically trained pianist who should practice more. Sharon Daly Lead Analyst, U.S. Retail Regulatory Strategy, National Grid John Pang Partner, ScottMadden John Pang has twenty years of consulting experience working in the energy industry. John specializes in clean technology, strategic planning and change management for electric utilities. John has consulted and created sustainable cost and efficiency improvements for some of the largest electric utilities in North America. Prior to joining ScottMadden, John was a consultant and country manager for AsiaWorks Corporate Division in Hong Kong, where he partnered with organizations to create personal growth and development strategies and implement high-impact change management solutions. John has facilitated leadership workshops and management development sessions around the world, in fifteen countries for over forty different multi-national companies and utilities. He has published academic research in international journals dealing with memory and cognition and human performance. John received a B.S. from the University of Guelph, an M.A. in experimental psychology from York University and an M.B.A. from Duke University. Scott Vogt Vice President, Energy Acquisition, ComEd Scott A. Vogt, Vice President, Energy Acquisition, oversees electricity supply procurement, wholesale contract administration and settling the wholesale power market for the ComEd zone. Additional responsibilities include providing strategic and financial analyses to inform regulatory policy and business development decision making. Vogt joined ComEd in 1998 as a financial analyst, and served a variety of positions in Finance including Director of Exelon Corporate Planning, where he was responsible for the development of monthly financial forecasts, monthly financial reporting packages, and Exelon Project Evaluation. Vogt also held positions as the Director of Financial Planning and Analysis for both Exelon Nuclear and ComEd. Vogt was a key member of the development and negotiation teams for both the Electric Infrastructure Modernization Act and Future Energy Jobs Act. Prior to his appointment as Vice President of Energy Acquisition, Vogt was the Vice President of Regulatory Projects where he was responsible for supporting the Transmission and Distribution rate making processes as well as leading a team evaluating post-EIMA regulatory structures. Scott holds a bachelor’s degree in Business Analysis from Indiana University. Joseph Viola Vice President, Regulatory Affairs, Hawaiian Electric Company Before taking on the role as Vice President of Regulatory Affairs in 2014, Joe served in Hawaiian Electric’s Legal Department for more than 13 years, beginning as Associate General Counsel and then progressing to Manager. Prior to joining Hawaiian Electric, Joe was a litigation attorney in California and in Honolulu and was also a law clerk for Hawai‘i Supreme Court Chief Justice Ronald Moon. Joe was also an adjunct professor (pre-trial litigation) at the William S. Richardson School of Law for several years. He holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from the State University in New York at Binghamton and a Juris Doctor degree from the University of California, Hastings College of the Law. Joe serves on the Board of Directors for the Institute for Human Services and the O’ahu Economic Development Board.
