Distribution Planning Tools and Best Practices for Medium- and Heavy-Duty Electric Vehicles

With tens of thousands of medium- and heavy-duty electric vehicles forecasted for delivery in the coming years, utilities should prepare for their arrival and plan for their charging needs and load requirements. Finding credible and publicly available information has proven difficult for distribution planners as they update distribution resource plans (DRP) and integrated resource plans (IRP). This free three-hour workshop, hosted by the Smart Electric Power Alliance (SEPA), will equip attendees with the latest information on medium- and heavy-duty vehicle forecasts, costs, trends in vehicle use, fleet logistics, and charging optimization. This content will compliment SEPA’s 2019 report, “Preparing for an Electric Vehicle Future: How Utilities Can Succeed,” and highlight utility distribution planning tools that are best suited for EV needs. Attendees will be able to apply the lessons learned in the session via interactive peer-to-peer exchange and scenario planning.

This workshop is free for DISTRIBUTECH attendees. Please register to attend.
