Gómez has an impressive background with Exelon Corporation, ComEd’s parent company, working on wholesale and retail market issues before making the move to the regulatory and energy policy area at ComEd. Her expertise will help shape SEPA’s strategic direction as the organization collaborates across all stakeholders in the electric power industry.

“As the energy industry evolves, so does SEPA as we work to stay ahead of the curve. Verónica’s appointment highlights yet another stage in our growth. Her expertise will provide us with unique insight as we transition to a smarter and cleaner future,” said Julia Hamm, SEPA’s President and CEO.

“I am excited to be a part of SEPA, which is highly respected across the electric power industry with members who bring cutting-edge thinking to the issues facing the industry today,” said Verónica Gómez. “I look forward to leveraging my background in generation, retail, legal and regulatory to bring together various stakeholders and help create better solutions across the different elements of the industry.”

“Verónica embraces the view that the utility must work closely with all stakeholders to best define the future, and then work together toward that goal. We are excited to welcome her to the Board,” said Jim Alberts, SEPA’s Nominating Committee Chair.

The SEPA Board of Directors is comprised of 18 members, including executives from utilities and technology firms, along with former policy makers.
