SEPA Chief Strategy Officer Sharon Allan Appointed to DOE Electricity Advisory Committee

WASHINGTON, D.C. — The Smart Electric Power Alliance (SEPA) is proud to announce that Sharon Allan, our chief strategy officer, has been appointed to the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) Electricity Advisory Committee, effective July 1, 2020.

“I am honored to join DOE’s Electricity Advisory Committee and foster their work delivering exceptional research and development,” Allan said. “My professional experience aligns with their efforts to ensure future grid reliability, resilience, security, and policy are addressed in a manner to assure our future grid is reliable, affordable, and economic. I am excited to join this impressive team for the work ahead.”

Each Committee member is appointed by U.S. Secretary of Energy Dan Brouillette for a two-year term. The group will advise DOE on a variety of electricity issues, and will periodically review and make recommendations on DOE electric grid-related programs and initiatives. Members will also identify emerging issues related to electricity production and delivery, and advise on Federal coordination with utility industry authorities in the event of supply disruptions and other emergencies.
