SEPA statement on Supreme Court decision on FERC Order 745

Julia Hamm, President and CEO of the Solar Electric Power Association (SEPA), has released the following statement on the U.S. Supreme Court’s decision in FERC v. EPSA.

“The Supreme Court’s decision in this case ensures that demand response remains one of a range of cost-effective distributed energy resources that both grid operators and utilities will be able to develop and deploy to enhance grid reliability, sustainability and affordability.

“The court’s ruling reflects the complexity of the relationship between interstate wholesale and local retail electricity markets, while also providing the policy certainty needed to drive investment and innovation.
