SGIP Welcomes New Chief Architect Dave Hardin

After many years designing, integrating and managing automation and information systems, which included senior technical and management positions, Invensys/Schneider Electric, Shell and Texaco. Dave Hardin has joined SGIP as the new Chief Architect. He starts in his position on October 24.

Hardin is no stranger to the SGIP community. He vice-chaired the consortium’s Smart Grid Architecture Committee, chaired the Industrial-to-Grid Domain Working Group, and is currently serving  as vice chair of the Transactive Energy Coordination Group.

“Dave will spend a significant portion of his time on the GMLC architecture project,” said Sharon Allan, CEO and President of SGIP. “Furthermore, he will work with IEEE to determine further collaboration. He will also help re-ignite the architecture committee and support the architecture and cybersecurity of OpenFMB. Finally, he will represent SGIP to the GMLC Interoperability project, and oversee the architectural aspects of SGIP’s Technical Programs, including Priority Action Plans and the Catalog of Standards.”

Dave has been active in a number of Smart Grid initiatives since 2006, including serving on the OpenADR Alliance Board of Directors. He is a member emeritus of the GridWise Architecture Council (GWAC), Registered Professional Engineer (DE/MD), Project Management Institute Project Management Professional, and an IEEE Certified Professional Software Engineering Master.
