Next-version framework for developing smart grid device/product test programs

An important aspect of technology and product development lifecycle, testing and certification programs for smart grid device interoperability are currently underrepresented in the industry. The Smart Grid Testing Certification Committee (SGTCC) published the IPRM (ANSI/NEMA standard SG-IPRM 1-2016) as a “how-to” manual for establishing an interoperability testing and certification authority responsible for coordinating testing and certification based on existing smart grid technology standards.

The committee further published this guide to offer detailed explanation and clarifications for entities planning to understand the IPRM in-depth, follow its requirements to launch an IPRM testing and certification program, and implement suggested best practices in associated business considerations.
