2026 Executive Fact-Finding Mission to Norway

Visit Norway, and learn from rapid advancements in clean energy while experiencing Scandinavian culture. Gain practical insights and form lasting relationships with your peers.

The mission is for utility executives and their board members, and sponsor/host representatives only (spots are limited). If you are interested in attending, please complete the brief form below.

Visit Norway to learn from the world’s leading market in EVs, where electric vehicles have claimed over 90% market share of new car registrations. Discover how Norway has not only managed the electrification load on its electric grid, but strengthened it through careful planning and strategic initiatives.

Key Questions Delegates Will Explore:

  • How can large numbers of EVs be successfully incorporated onto the grid while minimizing disruptions and maximizing the benefits of load flexibility?
  • How can strategic planning and grid modernization be optimized to meet the demands of unprecedented load growth?
  • What successful regulatory schemes and customer incentives are having positive impacts on electrification and enabling a modern, resilient grid?

Who will delegates have opportunities to interact with?

Delegates will meet with experts from government and industry to explore markets and policies, discover new projects and innovation, and discuss maintaining reliability and flexibility without fossil fuels. Topics of interest include Norway’s progress on the world’s largest floating wind project, carbon-free cement manufacturing, carbon capture, smart grid planning, and more.

U.S. energy executives will return from Norway with new and practical ideas to share and implement at their own companies.

More details will be released as the program is developed. To view the 2025 agenda, see here.

“I spent a week learning from people who are true experts in the energy field here in the states, and meeting with people and organizations abroad that are dealing with many of the same issues that we are facing in the U.S.  Gaining different perspectives on shared problems and issues is invaluable as we try to reach our zero carbon goal.”

- Gregg Fishman, SMUD Board President, 2025 Portugal Mission
