The New Standard for DERMS

With the pace and number of distributed energy resources being added to the grid, a few utilities are beginning to implement distributed energy resource management systems to organize and control all of these technologies.  But since these systems are so new, there are no standards or requirements to guide utilities who need to invest in this expensive technology. Enter the Distributed Energy Resource Management System (DERMS) Requirements – a baseline to guide utilities and vendors for the most important aspects their system should have.

About the report

This guide was created by a team of utilities, solution providers, and industry stakeholders and co-led by representatives from Southern California Edison, Duke Energy and ComEd. SEPA coordinated a collection of comments on a first version created by utility professionals to develop this more robust version.
